It was a wonderful reunion with Remy in the Philippines. Forty-one years ago, Mitsuo, now my husband, traveled alone in northern Luzon Island, visiting indigenous peoples there. He came to know Remy while riding on a bus from Tabuk and Remy allowed him to stay at her house in Lubuagan for a week. Remy and her family members told him a lot about their culture and tradition. Ever since, they have been good friends. I joined the friendship later. Remy is currently a member of nationwide IPMR (Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representatives) network.
